| What is your worship service like?In our worship we lift up our praise to God in a variety of ways - by praying, singing, responsive reading of the scriptures, special music and confession of sin. We also listen to God as He speaks to us in the preaching of the Word. Frequently our members share what God has done in their lives in answer to prayer or otherwise. On rare occasions we will - as God often does in the scriptures - employ drama to reinforce the preaching of the Word. Additionally, we partake of the Lord's Supper (Communion) on the first Sunday of each month and also baptize new believers as part of our morning service. If by "worship" is meant music, we praise God with a rich blend of traditional and contemporary sacred music with the balance tilted toward the traditional side. Trinity is one of the few churches around that still has a choir ministry! What's more, our choirs (children's and adult) are often accompanied by a full orchestra (or smaller ensembles), handbells, or a praise band. | | | How should I dress? For women we recommend Versace and Prada; for men... JUST KIDDING! Some of our members wear suits and ties, others wear jeans and t-shirts. Probably most wear what is called "business casual". The scriptures only teach that we should dress modestly and avoid being overly fancy and expensive. | | | Can I have my child baptized?Being a baptist church we believe that people are to be baptized upon profession of faith in Jesus. This means that candidates for baptism must be old enough to understand the terms of the gospel including what it means to believe; and it may be that your child qualifies for this. Our pastors interact with those who are interested in baptism to determine their readiness. We do not, as a matter of conviction, baptize infants as they cannot be at this level of faith and understanding. For infants see "Child Dedication" | | | What is Child Dedication? It is common in Baptist churches to dedicate infants to the Lord. Jesus Himself, though not baptized until an adult, was presented to the Lord at the temple when He was an infant. We do this in hope that God will work actively in the child’s life to bring him to salvation. It is also a time of dedicating the parents to the task of raising the child in the Lord; and the Church to the task of supporting the parents in this work. If you’re interested in dedicating your child to the Lord you are encouraged to speak with our Children’s Ministry director. | | | How do I become a member at Trinity? At Trinity the process of membership is reserved for those who have professed faith in Jesus Christ and been baptized by immersion. These candidates then also participate in a membership class taught by the senior pastor. Upon completion of this class they are recommended for membership to the church board; interviewed by the board and welcomed into the fellowship. Those who are interested in this process are encouraged to speak with the pastor. | | | Are you affiliated with a certain denomination?Yes - Trinity is a member of the Baptist General Conference (BGC). Working under the missional name of Converge Worldwide the BGC is a global movement of reproducing churches working to deliver in five core areas - multiplication, mobilization, leadership development, compassion, and generosity. For more information on the Baptist General Conference - Converge Worldwide go to www.bgcworld.org. | | | What times are your services? Our Sunday morning worship service is from 10:30 to 11:45. Preceding that we have Sunday school for all ages (9:00 to 10:10). On Wednesday nights during the school year we have an all church supper at 5:45; followed by discipleship and outreach opportunities for all ages from 6:30 to 8:00. | | | Where are you located?Trinity is at 2220 Edgerton St., N. in Maplewood, where Edgerton St. crosses over hwy. 36. If you take the Edgerton exit off hwy. 36 we're on the south side of the highway. | | |
